A quiet ledge above the valley
La Siesta sits on a hillside off Coonoor Road, looking out over pine groves and terraced farmland toward the Nilgiris. It's a small, family-run cottage with two independent suites and a shared terrace where guests often gather for tea and the view — quiet enough that the loudest thing on the property is usually the wind in the trees.
No front desk, no crowd — just a comfortable room, a hot cup of something, and a view worth waking up for.
Meet the founder
Hi, I'm Lakshmi
It began with my father, who ran a small cottage in Ooty. He never called it hospitality. To him it was simply how you treat people: with warmth, compassion and respect. Those lessons are the foundation of everything here.
When he passed, I promised to carry his vision forward and make it bigger and better without losing what made it special. Year by year, I've renovated and grown La Siesta into the peaceful, spacious family retreat you see today.
La Siesta is more than a business to me. It's my father's legacy, built with love, empathy and quiet determination. My promise is simple: every guest should feel comfortable, cared for and at home. In two years, nearly 500 families have stayed with us, and many have become friends.
